Raul's First Blog

In Ms. Nakada's class she took attendance. Then, we corrected a students blog. After that, we did Jamboard. Then, we listened to a song called "Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story?" from Hamilton. Once we were done listening to the song, Ms. Nakada told us what was the song about. After that, we were reading Inside Out and Back Again . Then, we were put into break out rooms and read one poem. Once we were done with all of that, Ms. Nakada gave us information about our homework that was due Friday, January 29th. After that, class ended.

Kassen's First Blog

In the beginning of class, we did blog corrections. Today, we did a Jamboard, and one of the questions was, How are you engaging in your learning?  In the Jamboard  Quote: "The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands in times of challenge and controversy." Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  We did a question of the week: Why is it important for people to take a stand? And then we did a song called "Eyes on the Prize" by Sweet Honey in the Rock. We read Inside Out and Back Again  and after we read that, she let us go.

Nick's Second Blog

We wrote the blog in class because I didn't write it. Then, we reviewed the engagement scale for active and passive engagement and disengagement. After that, we went on Jamboard and we saw pictures from the war in Vietnam. We read the first poem of I nside Out and Back Again ; as a class, and then we're put into breakout rooms and read the second poem in small groups. We wrote a three word summary based on the poem we read in the breakout rooms. Then, we took a quiz and when we were done, we were free to go.

We did the song of the week called "We Didn't Start the Fire" by Billy Joel.  We didn't do the spring course outline, so we went back and did it.  We were talking about sports too much, so Ms. Nakada closed the chat. We got to Inside Out and Back Again .
