Michael's First Blog

Today we went over the quote of the week: 

"I had for my winter evening walk
No one at all with who to talk
But I had the cottages in a row
Up to their shining eyes in snow."

Question: What is the difference between being alone and being lonely." 

After that we went over the song of the week: "Message in a Bottle" by The Police. 

Then, it took a while for someone to volunteer to do the blog.After we discussed who was gonna do it we took an A.R quiz

Blog for Friday

Hi period 6, Ms. Nakada started class by saying hi to everyone. Next, we did the blog and corrections, and I got chosen. We then headed over to the Jamboard and read the poems “Hope” by Emily Dickinson, and “The Laughing Heart” by Charles Bukowski. Since it was the last day of NaPoWriMo, we took a couple minutes to write some poems. After that, we quickly met in our breakout rooms for lit circles before taking the week 15 quiz. When we were done, we were free to go.

Ms. Nakada's Blog for Friday

I’ll be going over what we did on Friday. As we entered class, I said hello to everyone. Afterwards, we got onto the Jamboard and read and annotated two poems by Lucille Clifton. Next, we read a couple of poems from  Inside Out and Back Again  as a class, and made three word summaries. In break out rooms, we read some more poems and made some more three word summaries. Then, we came back to class and shared them with everyone. The last thing we did in class was the quiz, and then we were free to go.

Nickolaus's First Blog

  Today in class Ms. Nakada took roll and showed us our new blog. The G.O.A.T.S. Then, we took notes. Our notes looked something like this: Agenda Notebook/ Blog Set-Up Q-Q-Song What Good readers do? HW: Read and write reading journals for The Outsiders CH. 1 - 4. Due Sunday. We also discuss the quote of the week. “To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make out something else is the greatest accomplishment.” Ralph Waldo Emerson We also discussed the question of the week which was “What do you hope?” A lot of the class' answers where about how they hoped for the Corona Virus to go away, or how we wish for racism and police brutality to stop. Our song of the week was “We're Going to be Friends” and it was a calming and mellow song to listen to. We related what the song was talking about to current events and how they were similar even though the song was written a long time ago. Then, we began reading our book assignment for this year which is The Outsiders . W...
